Location of Gurston Down

The BARC's Gurston Down Hillclimb takes place on Gurston Farm, which lies just south-west of the village of
Broad Chalke, which is some ten miles south-west of the City of Salisbury in the County of Wiltshire, Southern England.

The full address is : Gurston Farm, Broad Chalke, Salisbury, Wiltshire. SP5 5HR

Access is best made by turning off the A354 at Coombe Bissett, some three miles south-west of Salisbury,
and following the unclassified road through the villages of Stratford Tony and Bishopstone to Broad Chalke.

On the following map, the Urban structures at the top right are the western outskirts of the City of Salisbury.
The Green road running diagonally across the map is the A354 from Salisbury to Blandford Forum.

Access to Gurston Down is best made by turning off the A354 at Coombe Bissett, some three miles
south-west of Salisbury, and following the unclassified road through the villages of Stratford Tony and
Bishopstone to Broad Chalke.

Once in the village of Broad Chalke, follow sharp right just past the Public House, and pass the new
houses on your right.   After a further 100 metres the road turns sharp left.
Continue along this road; Gurston Farm lies approximately one mile up the valley on the right-hand side;
the entrance is just beyond the 30mph Speed De-restriction signs.

Please note that this is a working farm, and animals other than Guide Dogs are not allowed.

Admission free, Car parking free.
Gates open at 0800; Testing will commence at 0900 hours.

Saturday 19th April 2008,
Speed Event, Nat B; a round of the 2008 Practical Performance Car / BARC Speed Championship
Admission £10.00 per person, Car parking free, Children under 14 free.
Gates open 0800; practice from 0830; lunch; competitive runs starting around 1330.

Sunday 20th April 2008
Speed Event, Nat B; the inaugural round of the 2008 Gurston Championship and Top Ten Challenge
Admission £10.00 per person, Car parking free, Children under 14 free.
Gates open 0800; practice from 0830; lunch; competitive runs starting around 1330.

Late April / Early May 2008 - Date to be confirmed
Annual General Meeting, commencing at 1930 hours in the Gurston Down Restuarant.
To be followed by a "question and answer" session.

Practise for the first visit of contenders in the 2008 British Hillclimb and Leaders Championships, and practise by members of the National Hillclimb Association on their Motor-cycles.
Admission £10.00 per person, Car parking free, Children under 14 free.
Gates open 0800; practice from 0830; two practice sessions before lunch, one further practice session after lunch.

Sunday 25th May 2008
Speed Event, Nat A; the first visit of contenders in the 2008 British Hillclimb and Leaders Championships, and competition by members of the National Hillclimb Association on their Motor-cycles.
Admission £10.00 per person, Car parking free, Children under 14 free.
Gates open 0800; final practice from 0830; first class runs from about 1045; first top-twelve run-off at about 1300; lunch;
second class runs from about 1415; second top-twelve run-off at about 1600.
